Dough Mixers
Industrial dough mixers move a lot of weight. For reference, a typical industrial dough mixer is rated for upwards of 2400 lbs., whereas a common household dough mixer is rated for upwards of 350 lbs. Each time the dough in the mixer turns over, the bearings experience a high shock load. To keep the bearings protected, JAX offers Halo-Guard FG-2 and Halo-Guard FG-PM. These lubricants provide exceptional pressure and antiwear performance, keeping the bearings from suffering wear and tear.
To protect the gearboxes on the dough mixers, JAX offers products like Magna-Plate 460FG and Perma-Gear FG 460. These products have improved metal wetting and high film strength, providing excellent lubricity for the gearboxes. Many of these dough mixers have worm gears. Perma-Gear 460 pairs well with worm gears, offering exceptional protection against sliding friction.
Proofer Cabinets
Proofer cabinets create up to 90% humidity. This humidity can be detrimental to the metal chains on the equipment because the humidity will cause the chain to rust and corrode.
To prevent this, JAX Proofer Chain Oil creates a lubricating film that displaces the water and condensation on the chain. It also incorporates a synthetic polymer that prevents the lubricant from dripping onto the rising dough in the proofer cabinet.
Ovens
In bakery bquipment, temperatures can reach as high as 660°F in some ovens. To keep the oven protected, lubricants need to be able to withstand these extreme temperatures. For oven bearings, use Pyro-Plate FGN-2. This synthetic grease offers high load and high temperature resistance for optimal protection and lubrication.
It remains thermally and oxidatively stable at high temperatures; this extends relubrication intervals and minimizes equipment downtime. For lubricating oven chains, use Pyro-Kote 220FG. This food grade lubricating oil has high temperature capabilities and antiwear qualities, making it a perfect choice for oven chains.
Freezers
Much like ovens need a lubricant to withstand high temperatures, freezers need a lubricant capable of handling extremely low temperatures. JAX offers several oils for freezer applications. JAX offers several oils for freezer applications, including Magna-Plate 86 and Magna-Plate 80, which are ideal for freezer applications below -40°F. For freezer bearings and other grease applications, use Magna-Plate 22.
It is specifically designed for freezing and chilling equipment. Magna-Plate 22 stays soft and pumpable at extremely low temperatures, allowing it to reach the critical lubrication points. These lubricants can be used to lubricate the reservoir, motor bearings, large chain drive, and gearboxes of spiral freezers, which are commonly found in bakery plants.
Lubricants for Bakery Equipment Summary
With all the different environmental conditions inside a bakery plant, picking the proper lubricant for each application is crucial. Whether your needs include high shock load, high temperature, low temperature, or high humidity, JAX has a lubricant to maintain and protect your equipment.
